Process

The aim of this project was a to build a small responsive site from the ground up. There are many challenges that present themselves with designing for a responsive site. One of them being creating an efficient framework that allows for the expansion and reduction of content. A layout can drastically change from a desktop, to mobile viewport, and in turn affect the user experience. This particular project features 3 pages that is a mix of fixed and fluid responsive styles.
Professional, clean and crisp edges describe the overall aesthetic of this design. The name of the company is inspired by the Roman architect, Marcus Vitruvius Pollio, who is known for his text De architectura. In this text, he stipulates that design should revolve around these three central themes: strength, functionality and beauty. These three themes are a part of Vitruvius’ values.
Site Architecture
The site architecture plays an integral role in determining the content of the website and overall user experience. I researched multiple home renovation companies, constructing companies and interior design consultant websites to develop my own ideal home renovations company.
